Entrepreneurship is very scarce in many parts of our country and among vast section of our population. But the fate of individual enterprises as well as the pace of industrial and economic development in any country necessarily depends on availability of entrepreneurs and their capabilities. Many development thinkers believe that entrepreneurs are not only born but can be made through systematic training and nurturing by way of proper follow-up support.
It should be clearly understood that entrepreneurship development prpogramme (EDP) means a programme designed to help a persons in strengthening his entrepreneurial motive and in acquiring skills and capabilities necessary for playing his entrepreneurs because the entrepreneurs will not only get self – employed but also generate employment for other persons too.
In view of this, an attempt has been made by VYK to draw up a broad outline of training programme as well as course material taking into consideration each section of people of A& N Islands. Since majorities of the aspiring entreneurs are from non-business families, for them this training manual will be very fruitful reference material in their future endeavor.
